Within the framework of the working visit to Singapore, the TECCO1 delegation held an in-depth discussion with MSI Global Private Limited (MSI) on the development direction of a next-generation Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system. The delegation was received by Mr. Chua Chong Kheng – Chief Executive Officer, along with the leadership team of MSI Singapore.
At the meeting, TECCO1’s Technology Director - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia presented an overview of the development roadmap for key railway projects in Vietnam, providing MSI with insights into the scale of upcoming railway development and the need for a next-generation AFC system capable of long-term implementation and interoperability across multiple transport modes.
Key discussion focus: Open AFC platform with multi-system integration
The core discussion between the two parties focused on the potential cooperation between TECCO1 and MSI in developing a unified AFC platform based on the following principles:
- Open architecture design;
- Application of advanced technologies with scalability;
- Interoperability across multiple fare systems: metro, high-speed rail, bus, electronic toll collection (ETC), parking systems, and vehicle emission charges;
- User convenience;
- High-level system safety and security.
AFC is a core strength of MSI, which has deployed ticketing systems across Singapore’s public transport network and is currently piloting next-generation AFC solutions. This also aligns with TECCO1’s direction to collaborate with partners in researching and designing a modern AFC system suitable for Vietnam’s practical conditions.

In-depth technical exchange and cooperation orientation
Mr. Chua Chong Kheng shared practical experience in system development, management, and operations from a holistic, system-wide perspective. He expressed strong interest in cooperation opportunities with TECCO1 in the AFC sector, particularly in the context of ongoing technical assistance programs supporting the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB).
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Chua accepted the invitation to visit TECCO1 in the near future, with the aim of jointly developing both short-term and long-term action plans. The collaboration is expected to move toward concrete technical cooperation steps in building an interoperable AFC system for public transport in Vietnam—an essential component of a modern urban transport ecosystem.
